28th October 2002 Mr George W. Bush President of the USA The White House Dear Mr. President Since their occupation
of Kurdistan, the governments of Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria have been
instigating an aggressive war against the Kurdish people, without paying
attention to any war principles, as well as violating all international
humanitarian laws and regulations, let alone the simplest of human rights
and liberties. This aggressive non-equal war has brought infinite catastrophes
and tragedies to millions of innocent civilians including children, women
and elderly, who have been either killed in genocide attacks using chemical
weapons and poisonous gases, or killed under torture in occupation cells
and prisons, or assassinated at home or in exile by terrorist units belonging
to those regimes. We have various material
and concrete proof and evidence of the involvement of Turkish, Iranian,
Syrian and Iraqi occupants in most vicious crimes of ethnic cleansing
against the Kurdish people in Kurdistan such as: extermination and displacement
of original residents in order to replace them by Turks, Persians or Arabs
to change the demographic map of Kurdistan. The occupation authorities
never hesitate in creating and arranging any kind of bad living conditions
with full premeditation and consciousness so that at the end it will cause
the physical and psychological extermination, fully or partly, of whole
groups of Kurdish people. These colonialist regimes are also involved
in crimes of cultural annihilation, as their armies had in the past and
present practised and involved in committing nasty massacres and crimes,
and the burnt land policy and barbaric and systematic destruction of thousands
of Kurdish villages and towns as well. During those savage attacks many
mosques, churches and Zoroastrian temples have been destroyed as well
as historical libraries and locations, and other cultural and civilisation
sites, that go back to thousands of years BC, and are regarded by many
historians and archaeologists as treasures for the whole humanity, as
these chain the past of the Kurdish nation with its present and future,
and as they are an organic part in the cultural-ethnic texture of the
region. On the basis of legal-historical precedents such as: Nuremberg of 1945, the decision by General Assembly of the UN on 31 November 1947 regarding handing over of the criminals of war and against humanity, and on the basis of the four treaties of Geneva of 1949 regarding victims of war, and also the international convention regarding warning about crimes of genocide and punishment of those who commit
them of 1948, and the Den Hag treaty of 1954 regarding the protection
of cultural values during armed conflicts, including the UN declaration
of independence for colonised people and countries of 1960, and reminding
of justice trials of the UN regarding hounding and punishing criminals
of war and against humanity in Bosnia and Rwanda. And in the light of
the announced policies of the United States for a free world, we invite
you to open as soon as possible an investigation into the above-mentioned
cases. The whole world knows
that the Kurdish nation has been subjected to genocide attempts several
times. In one single chemical attack in 1988 on the town of Halabja more
than 5000 civilian Kurds were killed. More than 200,000 Kurdish civilians
disappeared without trace during the Anfal operations carried out by Saddam
Hussein's army in the same year. In Turkey and Iran, thousands of Kurds
have been shot dead by execution or assassination. In Syria, any kind
of the rights for the Kurds have been ignored. In spite of that, the UN
and democratic countries are still silent about some of the mentioned
states such as Turkey, which uses the excuse of fighting terrorism to
wage a war of genocide against 20 million Kurds for the past 80 years
in the part of Kurdistan, which is occupied by it. Turkey has never been
a true western ally and has strong relations with Saddam Hussein, Iran,
Syria and other enemies of the western countries. Turkey is ready to change
its skin in every single minute for its interests and its interests only.
Turkey, ignores any right to 20 million Kurds inside its borders, and
they want to establish a Turkish state inside Iraqi Kurdistan for 20 thousand
Turkmans their, as the Turkish state in Cyprus! The KNC asks Your
Excellency to: Extend the 36 parallel
to cover all parts of Iraqi Kurdistan, to cover Mosoul, Karkouk and Khaneqin
cities, and to protect the Kurdish people and the world from the terrorist
and genocide policies of Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria, occupiers of Kurdistan,
and extend the no-fly zone to no-fly-no-drive zone. When the UN and the
USA protect Kurdistan, this will be the correct strike in the heart of
the main resources of the international terrorism. Because these terrorist
countries mentioned above are strong with the oil and other resources
of Kurdistan. If you want to make
the international terrorists weak, you should separate Kurdistan and its
resources from Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. The only way to make these
terrorist countries weak, you should separate Kurdistan - especially the
oil of Kurdistan - from these countries and establish the Kurdish state,
and it is the correct time to have a united Kurdistan, after long time
waiting with this very bad division as international colony since the
World War I. The Kurdish nation
with the independence of Kurdistan will be the best friend for the democracy
and the western system. The Kurds are not strong enough to establish their
own state, so the Kurds need your help. We would like finally to express our wishes and full support for a lasting democratic and free life for all the nations of the world including the Kurdish people! Yours sincerely President
